Gannon University: Gannon Sailing Team hosts Battle of Lake Erie Intercollegiate Regatta

The Gannon University Sailing Team (GUST) hosted The Battle of Lake Erie Intercollegiate Regatta at the Erie Yacht Club this weekend.

According to the Erie Yacht Club, local schools including Gannon University, Penn State Behrend and Mercyhurst University “take on sailors from other colleges such as University of Rochester, Syracuse University, Penn State (University Park), University of Pittsburgh, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Held annually in September, this regatta has been a sanctioned qualifier leading the Middle Atlantic States Intercollegiate Association’s Fall Championship. The Foundation has been a sponsor of all three local colleges, and was instrumental in the establishment of local intercollegiate sailing teams.”
