Gannon University: Gannon students place in top 15 of CFA Society Pittsburgh Financial Planning Competition

Two Gannon University seniors placed among the top 15 winners of the eighth annual CFA Society Pittsburgh Collegiate Financial Planning Competition.

Gannon students compete as part of the retirement and estate planning course taught by Richard Hauser, Ph.D., associate professor of finance and economics. Hundreds of Gannon students from across Western Pennsylvania participate each year.

Gannon student winners include:

Connor Bennick finished fifth place in the competition, placing above students from distinguished universities including the University of Pittsburgh. Bennick will be awarded a monetary prize.

Ann Jeffreys finished in 13th place with an Honorable Mention, placing above the top students from Penn State Behrend and Allegheny College.

This is the second consecutive year where Gannon had two students place in the CFA competition.

According to a statement from Gene Natali, CFA, CEO and cofounder of Troutwood, “We must preface how difficult it is to select these top ten plans, because in this competition – there are no losers. Every college student that takes the time to build a financial plan, has taken an important financial step. As part of the competition, students are asked to build a plan for 1, 3, and 5-years post-college.”
