Gannon University: Mathematics majors accepted to National Science Foundation programs
Gannon mathematics majors Abby Palotas and Timothy Edwards have been accepted to National Science Foundation-sponsored summer Research Experience for Undergraduate programs (REU). Abby will spend part of her summer working in mathematical biology, while Timothy will be working in algebraic research.
These REU’s have a very competitive application process with a very low acceptance rate; they are mostly offered to students between junior and senior year. Abby will be participating in her second REU this summer after taking part in one last summer after her sophomore year. Timothy’s program will be his first, but he is only a sophomore this year – as Abby was last year.
