GCRF-COMPASS Cambridge partners with BrainGain Academy to invite applications for their Leadership program on Global Challenges in Cambridge, United Kingdom
New Delhi: GCRF COMPASS Cambridge has exclusively collaborated with BrainGain Academy for its ten-day “Leadership Program On Global Challenges”. The program will take place in Cambridge, UK from February 9 to 19, 2020, run by academics and researchers from University of Cambridge and their global partners and collaborators, and will focus on global challenges and sustainability. The deadline to apply for the program is January 15, 2020. The program is highly competitive and will accept a select few students to participate.
This program is organised by Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) project on Comprehensive Capacity building in the Eastern Neighbourhood and Central Asia project supported by UK Research Councils, otherwise knowns as the GCRF COMPASS project. This is jointly managed by University of Kent and University of Cambridge in the UK, ADA University, Azerbaijan; Belarusian State University, Belarus; Tajik National University, Tajikistan and University of World Economic Diplomacy, Uzbekistan; in partnership with BrainGain Academy in India.
This highly competitive program for professionals, university students, civil servants, government officials and entrepreneurs will focus on the prevalent challenges today such as global economic crisis, climate change, health and well-being. World-class scientists, experienced and young, will help participants familiarise themselves with underlying and interconnected physical, sociological and economic processes behind upcoming technologies, yet to be reported in newspapers and blogs. These issues need to be tackled with comprehensive solutions which require an understanding of political systems and scientific knowledge.
The program will be taught by faculty and experts who link academic research with practical outcomes and is drawn from various key individuals working in a number of departments at University of Cambridge, Prof. Gil Lonzarich, Senior Professor, Department of Physics, Cavendish Labs; Dr. Patricia Alireza, Experimental Physicist and; Dr. Richard Sidebottom, Scholar at University of Cambridge’s Centre for Development Studies to name a few.
The vibrant and innovative environment which is intrinsic to the Cambridge experience will serve as a springboard for all those who attend this program and give them the confidence to explore new and exciting ideas that are needed for attending to global challenges important for all humanity. The program will also give its participants the opportunity to network with future leaders in academia, politics and the industry. Ultimately, this will help future researchers, entrepreneurs, and leaders of the world today to take better and brilliant decisions for their business, countries and societies.

The participants of the “Leadership Program on Global Challenges” will visit iconic landmarks of the university like Cavendish Labs where significant advances like the discovery of the DNA structure, electrons and neurons were made.
