GCW Parade holds series of programs to mark National Unity Day

 

JAMMU : Government College for Women Parade Ground Jammu, under the auspices of its NSS Unit, organized an Online Poster Making and Essay writing competition to commemorate “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”.

The event was organized under the supervision of the Principal, Dr. S.P Sarswat and guidance of NSS Program Officers, Dr. Mohammad Majeed (HoD, Urdu Department), Dr Gurpreet Kour (Assistant Professor, Chemistry) and Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed (Assistant Professor, Zoology).

The programme started with NSS volunteers taking pledge in the honour of National Unity Day. The faculty staff and more than 100 volunteers were part of the said pledge.

An online poster making competition on the theme, “Commemorating the Legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel” was held on 30th of Oct, 2021. The participants made eye-catching portraits of “Iron man of India” and also demonstrated his Ideology through their art pieces.

On Oct 31, 2021, an essay writing competition on the topic,” Atma Nirbhar Bharat” was also organised in which over 200 students participated.

The main motive of the competition was to make students aware about the ongoing advancement of our nation.

An online discussion on various topics such as, “Secularism”, “India and its cultural diversity” was also held via Cisco WebEx meeting App. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Mohammad.
