GCW Parade holds Start Up Registration Drive for Students

Jammu: The Incubation Centre, Government College for Women Parade Ground, Jammu today organized a Start-Up Drive for the students of the College.

Irtif Lone, who is currently heading the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Business Modelling from Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), was invited to interact with the students. Twenty five students participated in the Start-up Drive in which they presented their creative works like Fabric Painting, One Stroke Painting, Stencil Painting, Block Painting, Umbrella Painting, Jute Bags, Paper Mache, Clay Work, Waste Material Utilization Items, Decorating Candles, Bottles, Plates, Boxes, Serving Trays, Pots, etc, and Bakery Preparations.

The students presented their ideas regarding their future plans to harness their talent by way of starting their own business. Lone took keen interest in the creativity of the students and assured them full support from the JKEDI.

S. K. Dhar, Convener IQAC facilitated the interaction of the students with Lone. The event was organized by the Dr.Preeti Dubey, Convener Incubation Centre, Jyoti Bahl, Meenakshi Jamwal and Mr. Pravez Ahmed, Members Incubation Centre.

Sanjogita Dogra, who is engaged for nurturing the skills of the students, was also present on the occasion.

Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) S.P.Sarswat emphasized on focusing more skill based startups, for the benefit of the students. He encouraged the committee members to identify more such startups so that students are encouraged towards entrepreneurship. The ideas should be incubated in the college Incubation cell and led to Start ups. He promised his support for the benefit of the students and encouraged the students and the committee members to make the college the best women entrepreneur center.
