GCW Parade organises E- Counselling Session for students

Jammu: Government College for Women, Parade Ground, today organised an e-counselling session for the students of the college.

The e-counselling session was organised under the patronage of Principal, Dr. S.P Saraswat, and Dr. Manisha Koul, Deputy Director, District Employment and Counselling Centre.

The resource person was Rahul Vohra, Young Professional from Ministry of Labour and Employment.

The topic of session was “Relevance of National Career Service Portal for students”. The resource person informed the students about NCS portal and its relevance. He explained step wise details about various objectives of NCS portal, services available to stakeholders, job seekers, and how students can get themselves registered as job seekers. He also briefed the students about the employment scenario in J&K, various JKEDI Schemes for the students and unemployed youth of the state.

The session was supported by presentations providing detailed insight to the students regarding the benefits of getting themselves registered to NCS portal for taking the benefits of various government programmes and policies.

The Students raised number of queries and were satisfied by the response of the resource person.

It was an interactive session which focused on spreading awareness among students and in understanding the relevance of National Career Service Portal.

Dr Gurpreet Kour, Coordinator, and Prof. Meenakshi Jamwal coordinated the programme. Dushyant Singh, Employment officer, DECC was also present.
