GCW Udhampur organises Bhajan competition ; Jyoti Koushal adjudged best Singer


UDHAMPUR : To mark the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti 2021, an online Inter Collegiate Ram Bhajan Singing Competition was organized by the Department of Music in collaboration with NSS Unit, Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur, here today.

As many as 20 students participated in the competition. Jyoti Koushal Semester 6th was adjudged best singer in the competition, while second position was shared by Sonia Verma and Pritima Devi of Semester 1st besides Kriti Badyal semester 1st bagged third position. The consolation prizes were also given to Shabnam Chawla and Sherya Sharma.

The competition was judged by the panel of experts in music including Assistant Professor from MAM College, Jammu, Dr. Kuldeep Raina; Assistant Professor Samosh Kumar from GDC Udhampur and Assistant Professor Shallu Jasrotia from GCW Udhampur.

HOD Music, Dr. Seema Sharma, HOD Chemistry, Prof. Kewel Kumar, Assistant Prof. Dr. Kewal Kumar, Assistant Prof. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Prof. Yash Kumar, other senior faculty members and a large number of the students were also present on the occasion.
