GDC Dudu Basant Garh organizes Inter College poetry writing competition to mark “Kargil Vijay Diwas”

 

UDHAMPUR : Government Degree College Dudu Basant Garh today organized an online Inter-College poetry writing competition to mark” Kargil Vijay Diwas” under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.

In this competition, students wrote poems in English, Hindi, and Dogri languages on the theme of Patriotism to pay tribute to the war heroes who sacrificed their lives while serving the motherland. The poems written by the participants highlighted the valour of Indian soldiers and their determination for protecting the country from enemies across the borders. The competition was held under the supervision and guidance of Principal, Dr. Bhavnaish Chand.

Organizing Secretary Prof. Pradeep Kumar and competition coordinator Prof. Rahul Sharma took the initiative and gave the chance to the students to participate in this patriotic online event.

On this occasion, the College Principal said “We should join the nation in remembering saga of valour & gallantry of the heroes of Kargil war who made supreme sacrifices to protect our country.”

Students from various Degree Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir UT participated in the competition.

Surjeet Kumar of Sem- IInd of GDC Dudu Basantgarh bagged Ist position, Vishal Magotra of Sem- IVth and Palma Devi of sem. IInd of host college shared 2nd position while Muskan Sharma BA Sem-IVth of GDC Nagrota clinched 3rd position.

E certificates were given to all the winners. Principal of the College congratulated the winners of the competition.
