GDC for Women Baramulla organises Sericulture Awareness camp/ Plantation drive
Baramulla : The Department of Zoology of Government Degree College for Women Baramulla today organized a sericulture awareness camp cum plantation drive in collaboration with the college of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund SKUAST Kashmir.
The programme started with inaugural remarks by Coordinator Prof. Showkat Ahmad Najar who highlighted the importance of NEP 2020 besides the need for skill courses.
Dr. Mohd Farooq Baqual, Associate Dean College of temperate sericulture deliberated in detail the significance of sericulture industry in present. He said that our far flung areas of the valley can earn their livelihood through this industry and become self-reliant.
Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Dar- Sr. Scientist and In-charge extension wing of COTS also spoke on the occasion. He discussed the ways and means of income generation through this industry.
Lectures were followed by plantation drive wherein senior faculty of the college including HOD Physics, HOD Botany, HOD Zoology, HOD Commerce etc participated.
