GDC Marh hosts online essay writing competition

Jammu: Maintaining the spirit of teaching and learning during COVID-19 pandemic, Govt. Degree College, Marh today organized an online Inter-college Declamation and Short film contest on the topics, ‘Threat to Biodiversity in today’s world and Covid-19: The Unlock 1.0 w.e.f 4th of June to 7th of June, 2020.’
Students were to submit write-ups on Google Link and Short Films and Audio/Video messages on the Whats app and College Email Id.
The aim of the Competition was to highlight the importance of maintaining the environment and adopting social norms in view of Covid-19 pandemic. In total, 69 Write-ups and 43 Audio/Videos were received from various Colleges of Jammu Province, including GCW, Parade, GCW, Gandhi Nagar, GCOE, Jammu, GDC, Sunderbani, GDC, Vijaypur, GDC, Reasi, School of Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu, etc.
Deepika Rani of GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Radhika Mehta from GCW, Parade and Sakshi Saini from School of Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu secured First, Second and Third Positions respectively.
The Short Film Contest was won by Sachin from GDC, Marh, where as Second and Third Positions were secured by Abhinandan Dheiman from Govt. M.A.M PG College, Jammu and Priya Sharma from GCW, Gandhi Nagar Jammu respectively.
E-Certificates and Letters of appreciation were awarded to the winners.
The event was organized by members of Science Club under the Guidance of Prof. Aekta Gupta Principal GDC, Marh.
