GDC Ramnagar organises special lecture on “Safe & Secure Passwords”

UDHAMPUR: Department of Computer Applications, in collaboration with IT cell of Government Degree College Ramnagar, today organized a special lecture on “Safe & Secure Passwords” as part of Cyber Jagrookta Mission of the Government.

The event was organized under the patronage of the College Principal Dr. Udhey Bhanu and guidance of Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, HOD Physics.

At the outset, Dr. Udhey Bhanu highlighted the importance of passwords in connection with cyber security and lauded the efforts of the organising team for spreading awareness about the same.

Prof. Aditya Sharma, College Nodal Officer of Cyber Jagrookta cell and resource person for today’s lecture, introduced the participants to the concept of passwords and also discussed the possible issues one may face on account of weak passwords. He also enumerated various points which must be followed for creating strong passwords.

A practical session was also conducted where participants learned the standard procedure to be followed while creating online accounts on any portal.

The whole proceedings were coordinated by Prof. Sonam Gandotra, Organizing Secretary of the event.

Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed presented the vote of thanks. Besides Dr. Mohd Riaz, Dr. Om Parkash and Prof. Anice Ahmed were also present.
