’ GDC Sidhra Celebrates Independence Day
The initiative of the union govt. based on the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ GDC Sidhra Celebrates and commemorates 75 years of freedom of the progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. The Program of Independence day started with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Worthy principal of the college Dr. Monika Sharma and singing of the National Anthem by the staff and students of the college.
Speaking on the occasion Principal Dr. Monika Sharma said that this festival of 75 years of independence not only endeavours to reflect the spirit of freedom struggle but also offers a tribute to the martyrdom of numerous freedom fighters. She further added that there is an important role of modern youth as well as older generations to safeguard the freedom achieved by our forefathers and work hard to create a better nation for generations to come.
Dr.Nalini Pathania Associate Professor Department of English also encouraged the students by reciting an inspirational poem by Avtaar Singh Sandhu.
NSS Volunteers participated in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. Mehmood Ahmed Program Officer NSS Unit GDC Sidhra also apprised the NSS Volunteers
The Program was organised by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed Program Officer NSS Unit GDC Sidhra and Prof. Deepa Kak and Prof. Satbir Kour, member of NSS Unit GDC Sidhra.
The Program ended with distribution of Prizes, Certificates and Refreshment among the NSS Volunteers.
