GDC Ukhral holds awareness event on Int’l Day for elimination of Violence against Women

 

RAMBAN : Government Degree College Ukhral organized an awareness programme on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, here today.

The Programme was organized with the purpose to aware and sensitise the students about Gender equality and violence against the Women in the society. Prof. Iftikhar Hussain Lone (HOD English) presented the welcome address and highlighted the aims and objectives of the programme.

The session was inaugurated by the College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Ranvijay Singh. He talked about various kinds of violations against women and the legal remedies for the same.

The faculty members including Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch (HOD Urdu) also throw light on the importance of the programme.

Dr. Akhtar Rasool- the resource person said that the need of the hour is ‘to put our heads and hearts together to work harder and faster to make women’s health and gender equality a reality for all.’

Scores of students participated and presented their views on the issue. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Altaf Rasool (HOD Education). The programme was conducted and coordinated by Prof. Zakir Hussain Naik (HOD Political Science).
