GE HealthCare and Salud Digna extend collaboration aimed at improving patient care in Mexico

MEXICO CITY   – Today, GE HealthCare (Nasdaq: GEHC), a leading global medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics and digital solutions innovator, and Salud Digna, a leading healthcare provider with more than 200 clinics in Mexico and Central America, signed an agreement to deploy digital solutions to improve the efficiency of care protocols for clinicians on CT, MR and ultrasound systems across Mexico. These solutions and technologies are aimed at helping improve care for the 20 million patients Salud Digna treats every year. The deployment of these digital solutions extends a previous agreement signed earlier this year to supply 400+ GE HealthCare imaging and ultrasound solutions across Salud Digna’s facilities.

Standardizing and maintaining protocols across the health system had traditionally been an ad hoc process, with protocols uploaded manually on each device, impacting uptime and staff productivity. The protocol standardization solution that will be deployed at Salud Digna will allow the health system to track and update protocols on CT and MR equipment across facilities automatically through the cloud. This will help reduce variability in dose and exam quality, helping deliver consistent image quality and optimal patient care.

The agreement between GE HealthCare and Salud Digna also includes the deployment of a digital dose management solution to track and manage radiation and contrast exposure within the patient workflow. This will help clinicians use appropriate radiation levels and deliver better-informed, patient-centered, and effective care.

“We have dozens of MR, CT and ultrasound scanners installed across our clinics,” said Dr. José Castro, Head of Radiology at Salud Digna. “With these protocol automatization and dose management solutions, we can maximize their use and help ensure consistent image quality and accurate diagnosis for each patient, providing the best care possible at our facilities.”

“With GE HealthCare’s digital solutions, tracking and updates can be done centrally and automatically applied to all devices irrespective of location, which enhances our ability to drive productivity and standardization. We are proud to collaborate with an organization that, like us, seeks to humanize healthcare with more accurate diagnoses for patients,” said Guillermo Murra, General Manager of GE HealthCare Mexico.

This agreement reinforces the strong relationship that has existed between both organizations for more than 10 years, helping expand access to quality exams.
