GEF India adopts “Bharosa Centre” at Warangal”

Hyderabad:  Gemini Edibles & Fats India Pvt Ltd (Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils) as a part of their CSR initiative, extend support for setting up of “Bharosa- Support Centre for Women & Children” at Warangal. The MOU was signed by Ms. Swati Lakra, IPS & SHE Team’s Head and Mr. Akshay Chowdhry, Group Vice President, GEF India (Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils) in the presence of Mr. P Chandra Shekhara Reddy Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils.

This MOU represents the strong relationship between GEF India and the Telangana Police, who mutually strive to improve and provide outstanding service to the community. The Bharosa Centre will be managed by an all-women team. It will be equipped to facilitate immediate, emergency and non-emergency access to a range of services including medical, legal, psychological and counselling support under one roof to fight against any forms of violence against women both in private and public spaces.

Speaking at the occasion Mr. Akshay Chowdhry, Group Vice President, Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils said “At GEF India, we are always looking at ways to encourage women safety and making them self reliant. In the past, we have organized Freedom Self-Employment cookery workshops for women to make them independent. As a part of our CSR Initiative, we are happy and proud to sign the MOU and support the Telangana Police in setting up a “Bharosa Centre – For Women & Children” at Warangal. The Bharosa Centre will be set up as per the guidelines from the Director-General of Police to provide a speedy redressal of grievances ensuring prompt justice to women in distress. Hope this centre will improve the safety and quality of life of women in Warangal.”
