Celebrates Multicultural Literature with Bongiswa Kotta Ramushwana

NOIDA: Genesis Global School, today organised a GGS Conversations with the master Storyteller, Praise Poet and Motivational Speaker Bongiswa Kotta Ramushwana, where she interacted with the GGS students and enlightened them with the various facets of Multicultural literature.

 

The Conversation emphasised on why students should be encouraged to discover cultures beyond their geographical boundaries and cherish them with all their heart and brain. It also stressed on how learning multicultural literature can help students get to know sounds, words and language, in order to develop literacy skills at an early stage. Speaker Bongiswa Kotta Ramushwana highlighted the benefits of multicultural literature and mentioned how it sparks a child’s imagination, stimulates curiosity and helps in developing their social and communication skills.

 

Genesis Conversations is an interactive platform where students get to meet eminent personalities from various fields like sports, arts, academics etc. This, one on one interaction gives GGS students a chance to clear their doubts and ask questions directly to the expert. Some of the past guests for the event include Sania Nehwal, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Jwala Gutta, Baichung Bhutia, Late Milkha Singh and many more.

 

Talking about the event, Mr. Jackson Atonya Ligaga , Head of Performing Arts, Genesis Global School said, “Multicultural literature can strengthen the ties and bridge the gap between students from diverse cultural backgrounds and it is our duty as academicians to empower our children with the rich culture and heritage of our country. ‘Genesis Conversations’ is one such platform that gives an opportunity to our learners to discover and learn about cultures from across the globe.

 

Further to it, he added, “We will continue to come up with such initiatives in the future as well and are looking forward to invite the achievers from different walks of life”.

 

Bongiswa Kotta Ramushwana is a professional storyteller, a motivational speaker, a writer and an MC currently working at Freedom Park (Heritage Site) in Pretoria. She has performed for diverse audience at different settings like national and international storytelling festivals, educational institutions, prisons, orphanages, old age homes etc. In India, she has performed at Vizag Junior Literature Festival, Bookaroo Festival, Udaipur Tales, and many more.’
