Glimmer of Hope: Nowshera Forest Div strives to create Livelihood options under Green India Mission

RAJOURI : A new ray of hope is shining bright towards the employment generation for the locals in Nowshera Forest Division as J&K Forest department is continuously working towards livelihood options and exploring employment generation under Green India Mission involving youth and women, especially in the Chir Zone ecosystem of J&K UT.
To cater to the employment demand of local people, Nowshera Forest Division has organised three local employment generating training programmes under the banner of Green India mission which includes high density Fruit plants, one month training course of tailoring & stitching, six month basic computer course and all these aim to diversify the livelihood option of local peoples. In this programme a detailed demonstration of plantation of high density fruit plants was imparted to the locals by the experts and 250 high density fruit plants were disturbed among farmers. In addition to this one month training course of tailoring and stitching were started and 10 sewing machines were distributed among local female trainees.
In another event, Samriti Van at Dharpur Mandir Sunderbani was also inaugurated in presence of Mandir Samiti and other Locals of the area.
The programme was facilitated by Worthy Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, J&K Sanjeev Verma, Director, Department of Social Forestry Roshan Jaggi (PCCF), Addl. Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu B.M Sharma, CF West Circle Rajouri,. Vivek Verma (IFS), DFO Rajouri Dr. A.D Singh, DFO Nowshera Mrs. Neelima Shah, Kartar Singh, ADC Nowshera, Bodh Raj (BDC Chairman), Narinder Sharma, MC Chairman Nowshera, Rohit Kohli, Councillor Nowshera alongwith other PRI members and local peoples. The whole programme was organized by Anil Kumar Bhagat, Range Officer Nowshera, Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunderbani, Sudesh Kumar, Range Officer Lamberi.
