Global Indian International School celebrated its annual day with the theme “Namami Gange”

Noida: On the occasion of Global Indian International School (GIIS) entering its 18th year of excellence in education, students of GIIS Noida celebrated their Annual Day with the theme of ‘Namami Gange’.

The annual day was celebrated over 2 days with a cultural programme organized by teachers and students, highlighting the initiative by the government of India and creating awareness about it.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Arushi Nishank, Environmentalist, Kathak Artist, National Convener Sparsh Ganga Abhiyan and promoter of the Namami Gange Programme. Around 1000 students’ participated and over 800 parents witnessed the 2-day function, along with the GIIS family. The function was also graced by Mr. Rajiv Bansal, Director-Operations, Global Indian International School India and Mr. Ganesh Sharma, Principal-GIIS Noida along with other dignitaries.

In line with the government’s initiative and as a promoter of the Namami Gange Programme, Ms. Arushi Nishank said, “India is home to 6.8 million people who don’t have an access to clean drinking water. As a country, we need to work together to change this situation. We need to make conscious decisions to save our environment and make efficient use of non-renewable resources for a better future. My only appeal to the students is to stick to their roots, be a proud Indian and join us in the Sparsh Ganga Abhiyan to help us make India more beautiful.”

The event was a creative mix of theatre performances, music and dance. Following the theme of the event, students performed skits on Jal Pradushan-Polluted Ganga, Ganga Avataran, Brahma, Bhagirath and Entry of Shiv, to name a few. Students also showcased various dance performances that included the Shiv Dance and made the event memorable.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Rajiv Bansal, Director – Operations, GIobal Indian International School India said, “The Annual Day celebrations at GIIS are a way for the school to make learning fun. We believe in holistic development of students and our NINE Gems framework helps us to achieve this seamlessly. It was a proud moment for us to see our students perform with so much confidence on stage appealing to such a large audience on issues that are so relevant in today’s world.”

The performances were executed impeccably under the aegis of the teachers. The scripts were especially re-created to make it to suit the understanding of the students of various age groups. The students brilliantly created and presented myriad of performances that were lauded by all age groups.

The students were awarded prizes in the Academic as well as Co-Curricular areas. The programme culminated with the National Anthem. The function was a grand success and was appreciated by one and all.
