A Glorious Kick Start To 69 Th Indian Pharma Congress

Chandigarh: 69th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC), a three day International Conference between December 22-24, 2017, kick started at Chitkara University, Punjab campus with a grand and glorious inaugural ceremony presided by Sh. V. P. Badnore, Hon’ble Governer of Punjab, Sh. Brahm Mohinder Singh (Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab), with eminent dignitaries and officials from different fields on the dais, including Dr. B. Suresh (President, PCI), Dr. Shailendra Saraf (Chairman- LOC, 69th IPC; Vice President, PCI), Dr. M.D. Burande (President, IPCA), Dr. G. N. Singh (Drug Controller General of India), Dr. V. R. V Rao (President, IPA), Dr. T.V. Narayanan (Vice President, IPCA), Dr. P.D. Chaudhari (President, APTI), Dr. S. L. Nasa (President, IHPA), Dr. Atul Kr. Nasa (President, IPGA), Dr. Ashok Chitkara (Chancellor, Chitkara University), Dr. Madhu Chitkara (Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University). Dr. Preeti Kotiyal (Pro Vice chancellor, SGRRITS University Dehradun and member PCI anchored the ceremony, amidst a traditional Punjabi welcome and colours, national anthem and folk performances. Honorable Governor exhorted all the stakeholders in Pharmaceutical industry to ensure accessibility of quality medicines to all sections of society and ensure speedier developments.
During the ensuing three days event, as per the theme of the 69 IPC “Pharma Vision2020- Pharmacists for a healthy life” with a tag line ‘Skill and Will to Make and Serve Quality Pill’, approximately 70 scientific sessions will be held in eleven different tracks centred on the recent advancements in the fields of Drug discovery, Drug development, Pharmaco-vigilance, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical regulations, Quality assurance, business atrategies. Along with the scientific sessions, the event will also be marked by the scientific research oral and poster presentations by the students participating in the event from all over India.
The event brings together stakeholders from different fields of the pharmacy Profession on one platform for methodical idea exchange on drug Discovery, development and other areas as above for making available Quality medicines with complete pharmaceutical care.
The three-day conference will also include IPC Expo where the exhibitors from various sectors of the pharmaceutical industries and other ancillary industries will be showcasing their product, pipelines and organization. A placement conclave with 50 pharmaceutical industries participating, will offer an opportunity for students to select a career option on the venue. Cultural and entertainment events will be marked as star performance by Legendary Punjabi singer Gurdas Mann on 22nd December evening, and, a cultural extravaganza as miscellaneous performances by different teams from all over North India, and by singers Charu Dixit and Dimple Pancholi (ex- contestants of Indian Idol) will also be the highlight of the event. The conference has attracted 7500 registrations and 1500 experts all over.
Chitkara University, is hosting the event 24 years after it was held last in Punjab in 1994 in Punjab University, Chandigarh.
