GMC Doda gets facility for detection of antibodies in COVID-19 patients

Doda: Government Medical College Doda achieved another milestone in patient care by successfully installing the Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (USA) Vitros ECI Immunoassay analyzer for detection of antibodies in COVID-19 patients.
The equipment was inaugurated by Principal Government Medical College, Dr. Tariq Parvez Azad, in presence of Professor Kumudini Borole of the Department of Biochemistry.
Dr. Tariq Azad briefed about the working and importance of this machine. Among all new GMCs of the J&K, GMC Doda is the first to install this machine.
Dr. Ashraf Ali Khan, HOD Department of Biochemistry GMC, briefed about the working and use of the machine.
The machine performs over 60 tests per hour. This will help in mass screening of the population for detecting community spread of COVID-19.
This machine is also installed in many reputed hospitals and institutions in various parts of the country.
Government Medical College Doda is already performing TRUNAAT for detection of COVID-19 virus. The RT-PCR machine has been sanctioned by the JK Govt. and it will be installed within 10 days. These tests will be available for the residents of the district Doda and District Kishtwar.
