GMC Doda starts injection free Eye surgery

DODA: In the first of its kind in the Chenab region, Doctors at Associated Hospital Government Medical College Doda started an advanced procedure known as “Topical Phacoemulsification Surgery” for Cataract extraction and Intraocular lens implantation.

During the Surgery no injections are given to the patients hence minimising the complications and the chances of anxiety among the patients.

The surgeries are performed by Dr Farooq Runyal assisted by Yasir Ahmed Butt, Varsha Bhasin and Mohammad Ayub Lone.

The new procedure has been started under the active guidance and supervision of Principal Government Medical College Doda, Prof. Noor Ali and Founding Principal Prof. Tariq Parvez Azad,

The ophthalmology team is also thankful to Medical Superintendent, Dr Yudhwir Kotwal for his constant support and Alcon AG for training them in the said procedure.
