GMR Institute of Technology launches B.Tech. Programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science

 New Delhi : Keeping pace with technological developments in the emerging areas, GMR Institute of Technology at Rajam, Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh today announced the launch of two new B.Tech. Programs in emerging technologies.

Recognized by AICTE, students can now pursue B.Tech.-CSE in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and B.Tech.-CSE in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science from the academic session 2021-2022. The courses will have an annual intake of 60 students each and admission will be through AP EAPCET.

Machine learning is a subfield of artificial intelligence, enabling machines to learn from past data or experiences without being explicitly programmed. Data science is crucial in assisting artificial intelligence mediums in forecasting and finding solutions to future problems by linking data.

The curriculum is devised to cater to the industry needs and students will be given training by internal and external faculty to equip them for holistic education. Guest lectures by subject matter experts are a regular feature as part of the learning. Since both are rapidly evolving fields, there are vast scopes for youngsters holding professional degrees in AI & Data Science and AI and Machine Learning. Both are among top job oriented Engineering courses in the country.

GMRIT emphasizes collaborative learning between industry and academia to reinforce its curriculum with practical experience relevant to industry needs. The campus provides a technology-enabled conducive learning environment and provides services round the clock for holistic growth.

The content of the courses are future-focused and explores the broader spectrum of new-age skills like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Leaning, Data Science, Data analytics to name a few.”

Taking a significant step and bringing the best practices in aligning the curriculum with the industry need, GMRIT introduced new age skill training programs and launched Artificial Intelligence Lab last year.

GMRIT was certified A-Grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the University Grant Commission (UGC) for the second time consecutively. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accredited all its UG programs for six years (3rd cycle) under Tier 1.

GMRIT is ranked by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2020 in the band of 201 to 250 and ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements) in the band of 50 to 75. Also Ranked in the top five colleges in AP State and Top 50 colleges in the country by various educational magazines such as India Today, CSR GHRDC; Career 360; Education World (2021) India, Data Quest etc.

At present, GMRIT runs 09 undergraduate and 06 post-graduate programs. The institute has over 3,600 students. GMRIT continues to earn a good ranking among engineering colleges in the country. So far 9000+ students have passed out from the college to date.

GMRIT was established in 1997 under GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), a Corporate Social Responsibility arm of GMR Group, to bring internationally benchmarked superior technical education to the doorsteps of the rural youth.
