GMRIT students bag high paid job offer at campus placement

Hyderabad : A total of 17 students from Rajam–based GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) pursuing Computer Science & Engineering and Civil Engineering, have made an exemplary achievement by bagging placements in reputed Multi-National Companies (MNC) with high salary packages varying from 8 lakhs per annum to 25 lakhs per annum. These students will be heading soon to their respective destinations of placement to take up their dream job.

This year, GMRIT has recorded the highest number (700+) of placement offers compared with the preceding years. Fortel.UK, Amazon-AWS, Musigma, Infosys, TCS Digital and Cognizant are among the top recruiters this year.

Established under GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of GMR Group, GMRIT brings internationally benchmarked superior technical education to the doorsteps of the rural youth. Under the aegis of experienced and committed faculty from diversified facets of all Engineering courses, GMRIT provides various technical and non-technical training to its students from their third semester onwards. It conducts a number of seminars, technical talks and debates by inviting professionals and experts from industries and research centres.

Irrespective of the branches, all the students are encouraged to participate in live hackathons organized by top MNCs. Students are facilitated and engaged with coding activities, technical contests, events, talks and webinars organized under GMRIT Professional Student Chapters, making them placement ready.

My teachers and faculties at GMRIT helped me in picking up the right programming skills and developing life skills through professionally designed internship programmes of the institute,” said Ms. M. Rohini who has been offered Rs. 10 LPA at Musigma.

The curriculum is devised to cater to industry needs with fundamental courses across all the branches like C, Object Oriented Programming, Data Structure, Databases, Networks and Advanced courses which are department-specific, designed to teach the students in both normal and blended mode.  Another added advantage is the laboratories where the students perform several experiments on advanced concepts and content which improves troubleshooting and problem solving skills with new versions of software and hardware.

Every student undergo 300 hours of employability skills training program that includes soft skills, analytical skills, coding and  technical skills trainings apart from the company specific training. Students are given separate GATE coaching by the subject matter experts. Training on entrepreneurship development is also provided through Entrepreneur Development Cell (EDC) to the interested students, supporting them to establish their own start-ups.
