Last weekend, the national and international fitness science elite came together for the 3rd Fitness Science Congress. From September 16th to 17th, the greats of the field exchanged views on current topics and captivated the interested viewers. Launched at the IST University of Management in Düsseldorf, this year the event took place for the first time at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.

The exchange of young and experienced colleagues and the coming together of different disciplines and approaches is the basic idea behind the fitness science congress. And that goal was once again achieved. The world-renowned hypertrophy researcher Brad Schoenfeld from the City University of New York City and his North American colleagues Prof. Stuart Phillips from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, and Keith Baar from the University of California attracted the inquisitive audience in Frankfurt in the first hours of the Congress under their spell.

Other luminaries from the fields of fitness, health, therapy, sports medicine, dietetics and sports science provided a varied and, above all, instructive program. Sports scientists, physiotherapists and experts from the fitness and health sector – including in particular trainers from major fitness companies and universities – were able to take away valuable input for their daily work.

The scientific offspring also got their stage again at the 3rd Fitness Science Congress. At the “Young Investigators Award” projects by ambitious young academics were presented and awarded. The congress presidents Prof. Dr. Michael Behringer from the Goethe University and initiator Prof. Dr. Stephan Geisler drew a positive conclusion.

Prof. Dr. Stephan Geisler: “I am extremely pleased that the third edition of the Fitness Science Congress was so well received. The well-known colleagues on the stages have once again managed to present impressive research findings and new developments in an exciting and, above all, practical way. I am sure that all participants of the congress will benefit enormously from it.”
