Good Monk collaborates with Indian Dietetic Association, Bangalore Chapter, to create awareness about Hidden Hunger & Gut Health
Bengaluru– Superfoods Valley, a nutrition and food-tech start-up headquartered in Bengaluru, partnered with the Indian Dietetic Association (IDA), a renowned professional body of qualified dietitians and nutritionists, to address the critical issue of Hidden Hunger & Gut Health in India at the Good Monk Nutrition Summit. The event was attended by hundreds of nutritionists, dietitians, and other key stakeholders in nutrition and health.
Renowned food scientists and qualified dietitians who graced the event with their presence included Dr. B Sesikeran, Former Director of the National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR) and Past President of the Nutrition Society of India, Ms. Sheela Krishnaswamy, Nutrition & Wellness Consultant and Past National President of the Indian Dietetic Association, Dr. PR Krishnaswamy, Former Founder-Director of the Protein Foods & Nutrition Development Association of India, Dr. Usha Ravindra, Professor at the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, Ms. Hema Arvind, Chief Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics at Ramaiah Memorial Hospital and Dr. Madhumita Krishnan, Consultant Ayurvedic Paediatrician, CABHN, TDU, Bengaluru.
This summit served as a unique platform to discuss innovative solutions and practical recommendations to address the pressing issue of Hidden Hunger in India. The speakers provided insightful information on the significance of addressing the menace of Hidden Hunger, a form of undernourishment that goes overlooked while consuming daily meals. The event emphasized that focusing on our gut health and daily probiotic consumption is imperative to ensure our body absorbs maximum nutrients from our food. Experts also discussed the significance of lysine, an essential amino acid in a carbohydrate-based Indian diet for urban and rural populations.
