Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu hosts 7 day workshop on ‘Psychosocial support for Covid Pandemic Conditions”

 

Jammu : The NSS unit of Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu (J&K) today organized a seven-day Workshop for students and faculty (from 8th to 14th June), on the topic ‘Psychosocial support for Covid Pandemic Conditions”

The event is being held under the supervision of college Principal, Dr S.P. Sarswat, 2021 in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Government of India.

The purpose of the workshop is to prepare the students for spreading awareness regarding covid appropriate behavior among the society, mitigating the challenges faced by covid victims so as to avoid the third wave of covid in India.

The resource person of the workshop, Dr. Pallavi Kaul, Senior Consultant, MGNCRE, interacted with the NSS volunteers and students of the College and made them aware of the various initiatives that Government of India has planned to initiate to face the Covid pandemic. The resource person also provided the students the line of action and framework under which students need to work.

Dr. Gurpreet Kour, NSS Program Officer of the college coordinated the program and the organizing committee included Dr. Piyali Arora, Dr. Mohd. Majeed, NSS Programme officer. HoD Urdu, Dr. Parvez Ahmed, NSS Programe Officer Mr. Pranav Sharma and Mr. Antriksh Sehgal of Computer Sciences Department of the college provided technical assistance to various faculties and students from different colleges have also registered for this one week workshop.
