Government College for Women(GCW) Udhampur’s theatre workshop enters Day 3

 

UDHAMPUR : The ongoing 5-day theatre workshop, which began on July 19 at Government College for Women(GCW) Udhampur, entered its 3rd day here today.

The workshop is being conducted under the supervision of Principal GCW Udhampur Dr. Monika Sharma and has been organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Music and Students welfare Committee GCW, Udhampur.

The Resource person of the workshop is Sumit Sharma Department of Students Welfare University of Jammu.

On the third day, Summit Sharma apprised the participants about the importance of theatre in day-to-day life. He said that theatre was a very powerful medium and participation of students in theatre was more active rather than being passive.

During the workshop, Summit highlighted the basic theatre concepts and conducted a series of warm up exercises, improvisation, theatre activities, performances based on self imagination etc.

The participating Students from different colleges of district Udhampur are showing keen interest in the workshop being coordinated by Assistant Professor Music GCW Udhampur Yash Kumar.

Among others, Vice Principal Prof. Kewal Kumar, HoD Music Dr. Seema Sharma, Prof Kewal Kumar, Assistant Professor Geography Pooja Bharti, Assistant Professor Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Lecturer Mukteshi Sharma, Lecturer Arti Gupta, Lecturer Anita Sharm and other senior faculty also present on the occasion.
