Government Degree College (GDC) Kokernag organises ‘Road Race’

Jammu: In order to boost health and dynamism of the young budding generation, the Department of Physical Education, Government Degree College (GDC) Kokernag today organised a road-race for both male and female students of the College.

As many as 31male students and 17 female students took part in the race.

Prof. M. Shafi Malik, Principal of the College flagged off the race for Male students while Prof. Nazir Ahmad Wani, senior-most faculty of the College flagged off the race for female students.

For male participants, the race started from Zalangam Kokernag and culminated within the premises of the College while females started racing from Kokernag Garden up to the College premises.

The participants were received by the Principal of the College.

Dr. Aqib Fayaz, Medical Officer SDH Kokernag apprised the students/participants about the health cum psychological benefits of such events and how these events are beneficial for the society in the long run. He also gave demonstration about CPR technique for the benefit of the participants.

Later, during the reception cum award distribution ceremony Principal of the College distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winners.

Burhan Wani (Semester III), Adil Hussain (Semester V) and Muneer Aslam (Semester V) respectively got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions among the male students, while as Ulfat Shareef (Semester II), Shazia Rashid (Semester II) and Suraya Farooq (Semester II) respectively got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions among the female students.
