Government Degree College Sidhra organized an online lecture on New Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020)

The IQAC Cell of Government Degree College Sidhra has organized an online lecture on New Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) under the patronship of worthy Principal Dr. Monika Sharma. The speaker of the lecture was Dr.Vishal Sharma, Head, Department of Electronics, M.A.M College, Cluster University of Jammu. The lecture was initiated with the welcome address by Dr.Nalini Pathania, Associate Professor of English and Convener, IQAC of the college. The speaker of the lecture deliberated on the evolution of Education Policy in General and how it played a pivotal role in the uniqueness of the formation of NEP-2020.He highlighted the various challenges in the current educational system and stressed on numerous hurdles in the effective implementation of the policy. He further highlighted the five pillars of NEP-2020 namely Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability. He stated about the importance of the establishment of Multidisciplinary Education and Research Universities (MERU) as well as the establishment of National Research Foundation. He overtly stressed on the significance of vocational education. He concluded his lecture about mentioning the factors like time and cost which are hampering the proper execution of the policy. The lecture was ended with the formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Mussarat Chowdhary, Dept. Economics of the college.
