Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru R. N. Ravi, lays the foundation stone for the New Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) Campus

Chennai : The Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli (BIM) conducts its 32nd Graduation Day for the 36th and 37th batch students. The Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru R. N. Ravi, the Chief Guest, honored the rank holders with gold medals and cash awards and distributed the degree certificates to graduating students of BIM36 and 37 batches. Mr. Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, Emeritus of TVS Motor, and the Guest of Honor, lauded the candidates and the rank-holders in his felicitation address.

Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru R. N. Ravi, laid the foundation stone for the New Campus of Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Tiruchirappalli, in the presence of the Guest of Honour, Thiru. Venu Srinivasan (Chairman, Emeritus of TVS Motor), Shri Ravi Appasamy (Chairman, BoG Bharathidasan Institute of Management), Thiru. Asit K Barma (Director, Bharathidasan Institute of Management), Mr. Ramesh Gelli (Former Chairman – Board of Governors BIM) Thiru. Bala Baskar, Thiru. Sathish Parasaran, Dr. Kamakodi, Dr. R.K. Raghavan (Members, Board of Governors – BIM). Dr. M. Selvam (Vice-Chancellor, Bharathidasan University) and Dr. R. Velraj (Vice-Chancellor, Anna University) were also among the dignitaries who witnessed the event.

The New BIM Trichy campus is located on the Trichy-Pudukottai Highway. Built over 18 Acres of land and an approximate of 3.4 lakh Sq.ft of built-up area, the campus promises to be state-of-the-art and use sustainable construction principles. Supported by BIM’s internal resources and global alums, the first phase of the campus will be ready for operations in 2025. BIM Trichy will have two campuses in Trichy now; the other heritage campus is inside the BHEL complex.

On this occasion, the Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru R. N. Ravi, also released a beautifully crafted BIM@40 souvenir. This souvenir captures many old memories of the formation of Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli (BIM), and its forty-year legacy since its incorporation in 1984. It also chronicles BIM’s bold steps to position itself among the top B Schools globally with unique initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Thiru Ravi Appasamy, Chairman, BoG Bharathidasan Institute of Management, commented, “The autonomous governing body allows BIM Trichy to be nimble-footed in adapting to ever-changing business orders. Building on the playbook of the last forty years, we now pad up for the next 40. Our new initiatives on national and international accreditations, MoUs with top-tier B Schools in the US and Europe for internationalization, strengthening the faculty bandwidth in new age areas, impactful research, and publication will form the texture of the new BIM based on the solid foundation created over the last forty years. The new campus will provide the much-needed tailwind to BIM’s growth.”

While congratulating the graduating students, Thiru. Asit K Barma (Director, Bharathidasan Institute of Management) said, “We stand at an inflection point for the next giant leap forward. India’s economy has shown remarkable resilience and promise guided by India’s traditional consumption-driven growth, the surge in capital expenditure and investment, and India’s significant rise as a start-up and IP-led emerging economy. With a population of 1.43 billion, with 58% being below 30, B Schools in India can play a decisive role now. In the changed narrative, BIM is re-scripting its new growth story. BIM will be globally known for its unique program architecture targeted at Gen Z. We will be at par with the tier 1 B Schools regarding new technology applications and sustainable development. We will contribute to the growth of the local ecosystem by working closely with the state and local government.”
