Govt PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar celebrates Hindi Diwas

 

JAMMU : The Department of Hindi, Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, today organised a webinar on “Desh Prem ki Kavitye: Ek kavyagoshti” to mark the celebration of Hindi Diwas and Hindi Pakhwada.

The College has planned to host a series of programmes including seminar, essay competition, quiz competition, Doha recitation pratiyogita and language skills program during the Pakhwada which would conclude on September 28 with a grand valedictory function.

The inaugural function started with the address of Principal Dr Nagari who threw light on the different aspects of Hindi language and literature. The Principal of the college appreciated the way students expressed their feelings by reciting poetry full of patriotism.

The principal also appreciated the steps taken by the Hindi Department for the development of Hindi language.

The senior faculty of Government College for Women Udhampur, Dr A K Raina, while participating online as the chief guest, laid emphasis on the right pronunciation of Hindi. He also recalled the activities of Hindi Pakhwada during his time in the college.

The welcome address was presented by Dr Maharaj Krishan Mussa, HOD of Hindi.

He said that the aim of Hindi Pakhwada is to enhance the Hindi vocabulary, creativity, communication skills, patriotism and pronunciation of students.

The programme witnessed an enthralling patriotic poems recitation session in which 14 under graduate students participated.

Prof Poonam Co-convener conducted the proceedings of the programme and presented vote of thanks. She said that Hindi Divas is being celebrated under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Dr Sujata Salathia- the Convener of Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was among other faculty members and students of the college present on the occasion.
