Govt SPMR College of Commerce organized webinar on “All About Group Discussion”

 

JAMMU : MANODARPAN: Psychology Cum Career Counselling Cell of Government SPMR College of Commerce Jammu in collaboration with PIBN, Pune organized a webinar on “All About Group Discussion”.

The programme began under the able guidance of Professor, Ranjeet Singh Jamwal, Principal of the College. He congratulated the Convenor Manodarpan, Professor, Archana Kaul and her team on conducting such a webinar on relevant issues.

The webinar began with a welcome address by the co-convenor Prof Reeta Menia. Fatima Abbas, HOD Business Communication and Soft Skills PIMB, Pune was the keynote speaker of the webinar. She discussed in detail about the qualities which a company looks for in candidates while hiring them.

She highlighted that the group discussions are very good tool for the companies to select the best candidate. She gave a insight about the concept of group discussions are a very good tool for the companies to select the best candidate. She gave an insight about the concept of group discussion and provided important tips required to score maximum marks in group discussion. Various parameters of group discussion such as initiation and conclusion, content, team synergy, leadership ability and verbal and non-verbal skills were discussed in detail by the speaker.

The programme was attended by the students from different streams, committee members and teacher making it a successful event. The students enthusiastically participated in the webinar with an interactive query solving session. All the queries of the participants were addressed by the speaker. The participants considered the webinar very meaningful and beneficial for them.

Gursheen Kour coordinator of PIBM presented the initiative taken by PIBM for students. The proceedings of the webinar were smoothly coordinated by Professor, Ashu Manhas, Dr. Deepak Pathania, Dr. Jagmeet Kaur, Professor, Shreya Sharma and Professor, Rajni Bala. The webinar ended with the formal vote of thanks by Dr Sakshi Sharma.

E-certificates were also given to all the participants.
