The Grand Maratha Foundation (GMF), an NGO in Maharashtra, distributed school bags and stationery kits to underprivileged students in Hans Nagar Khopat, Thane. 500 underprivileged students benefited from the donation drive. This initiative provided stationery material sufficient for one academic year to children from poor economic backgrounds that don’t have access to material required for basic education.
The initiative was planned under the guidance of Ms. Madhavi Shelatkar (Trustee GMF) and Mr. Rohit Shelatkar (Founder GMF), and the distribution was supported by volunteers of the Grand Maratha Foundation.
Speaking on this initiative, Mr Rohit Shelatkar, Film Producer & Founder, and Grand Maratha Foundation said, “The goal of this programme, which is one of many that the Grand Maratha Foundation has launched, is to help children from underprivileged backgrounds with their educational needs. GMF’s priority will always be to help and empower students from disadvantaged communities so that they can have a better education and build a better life for themselves and their families.”
