Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai’s Atal-Great Lakes Balachandran Incubator (AGBI) conducts introductory sessions for incoming students during Term Zero
Chennai: Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, a leading business school, are pleased to announce that their Atal-Great Lakes Balachandran Incubator (AGBI), a joint venture between Great Lakes and the AIM, Government of India, are currently hosting sessions on entrepreneurship and other concepts for aspiring entrepreneurs and incoming students.
This is part of the Institute’s “Term Zero” initiative, an optional pre-commencement module for incoming students, which prepares them for business school during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The AGBI sessions kicked off with a talk by the founder and Dean Emeritus of Great Lakes, Dr Bala V Balachandran, who discussed his experiences of setting up various management schools across the country including IIM-Bangalore, MDI Gurgaon, the Indian School of Business (ISB) and Great Lakes. He was joined by the other officials from the AGBI who explained what support systems are in place for the incubates, outlined student engagement plans and introduced the initiatives planned by Kartavya, jointly with Great Lakes’ Karma Yoga, to provide socio-economic welfare and outlined the strategies involved in setting up a start-up. The session concluded with the AGBI team inviting students to submit their start-up proposals.
The second session featured Dr Ramanan Ramanathan, Mission Director – Atal Innovation Mission and Additional Secretary, Niti Aayog. Dr Ramanathan talked about the aims of the Atal Innovation Mission and how they have been supporting aspiring entrepreneurs through their collaborations with institutions such as Great Lakes.
The AIC – Great Lakes Balachandran Incubator (AGBI) is supported by the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai. AGBI envisions fostering disruptive innovation within the domain of technology and encourages nascent entrepreneurs to leverage emerging technologies such as AI, Internet of Things, algorithmic analytics and Blockchain to lead platform-revolution and inclusive enterprises.
