The liaison office of Freie Universität Berlin in São Paulo has entered into an agreement to fund research projects together with the São Paulo Research Foundation (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo, FAPESP), one of the biggest funding bodies in Brazil. They have announced a joint call for proposals within the “SPRINT” (São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration) program in which both institutions will provide funding worth a maximum of 10,000 euros for up to three international research projects.

The program offers researchers from Freie Universität Berlin the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from universities or institutions in the State of São Paulo by carrying out reciprocal visits or workshops to develop a research project. The project will then be submitted to FAPESP as well as a corresponding funding organization in Germany such as the German Research Foundation (DFG). This seed funding, which is designed to promote a new generation of research projects between Freie Universität Berlin and São Paulo, will only be used to cover mobility costs. The deadline for submitting projects is January 30, 2023.
