Griffith University’s new CBD campus is on-track to open in 2026 with expressions of interest being sought from landlords and developers from today.

The CBD campus is a core pillar of Griffith’s Strategic Plan and will serve as a major hub for learning and increased collaboration with industry and government.

The new campus will provide accommodation for Griffith Business and Law Schools, enable ICT learning and teaching, and accommodate the University’s pathway training and postgraduate learning centres, fostering greater engagement and collaboration between Griffith, government, business and industry.

Vice Chancellor and President Professor Carolyn Evans said Griffith’s new Brisbane city campus would be an anchor institution in the Brisbane CBD.

“The new city campus will be a front door to engagement with students and industry alike,” Professor Evans said.

“We hope it will become an iconic piece of the CBD landscape and will provide a lively, vibrant population to support other businesses in the area.”

Griffith has engaged Colliers for Tenant Representation and is seeking:

A minimum of 10,000sqm to be ready for new students in Trimester 1 2026.
A space that embodies, and a landlord who shares, Griffith’s values around accessibility, sustainability and social justice.
A visible and high-profile location commensurate with Griffith’s status as one of Australia’s leading tertiary institutions.
A location that will enable the University to cultivate new industry partnerships that provide pathways for students studying business, law, ICT into placements and work integrated learning.
Colliers National Director of Tenant Advisory Tim Farley, who was responsible for negotiating several successful projects for Melbourne’s top tier universities, is leading the expression of interest campaign.

“The education sector is returning to face-to-face learning and delivering world-class facilities is paramount to attracting students not only back to campus but into Brisbane,” said Mr Farley.

“With the influx of infrastructure due to be delivered in the Brisbane CBD, the new Griffith campus is positioned in the heart of Brisbane and offers an unparalleled opportunity for developers and landlords.”
