Gujarat CM E-launches developmental projects of Rs. 322.66 –Cr of VMC in Vadodara

Vadodara: Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today categorically stated that though the growth of world has been halted by the world-pandemic of ‘COVID-19’, yet, Gujarat has not stopped its development journey. During this period, the constant launching of new developmental projects, worth of Rs. 9255 crore, are evidences of that.

Today from Gandhinagar the Chief Minister E-launched developmental projects of Rs. 322.66 of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). They included completed projects of Rs. 44-Cr, which were dedicated to the people, while new projects of Rs. 279-Cr were e-launched. Gujarat Assembly Speaker Mr. Rajendra Trivedi also accompanied the Chief Minister.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that as the 45% population of the state is living in the urban areas; the Gujarat Government is dedicated to serve the people with mantra of “Suvidha” to provide amenities such as drinking water, drainage, roads, lights and others.

Mr. Rupani said previously during the Congress regime the state government was not offering any assistance to the local governing bodies as result they were mostly borrowing the money from financial institutions, the World Bank or others. But, now scenario has completely changed.

Mr. Rupani said, “Four cities of the state have won laurels by standing in top 10 positions in Smart Cities list of the country. I Congratulate to Vadodara City for being one of them.”

The Chief Minister also expressed determination to make Gujarat “Corona Free” in coming days, along with development of urban infrastructure, health, logistic and other amenities to establish Gujarat as “Role Model”.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Mr. Yogeshbhai Patel, Minister of State for Urban Housing, Vadodara City Mayor Dr Jigishaben Sheth, and VMC Municipal Commissioner Mr. P. Swaroop (IAS).

The event was also graced by Member of Parliament Ms Ranjanben, MLAs – Mr. Jitubhai Sukhadiya, Ms Seemaben Mohile, and Mr. Shailesh Mehta, Deputy Mayor (VMC) Dr. Jivraj Chauhan and others.
