Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani visits 1,200-bed Isolation Ward dedicated for corona virus at Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: In the wake of prevailing global situation arising out of novel coronavirus, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today took round of the freshly refurbished 1,200-bed Isolation Ward in the Asarwa locality at the Civil Hospital here.

While this Isolation Ward has been kept ready exclusively for corona cases, all other wards have been shifted and accommodated at the adjoining old Civil Hospital premises.

Expressing his deep concern at the severity of the dreaded virus, Mr Rupani said that his government is competely seized with the situation, ready with all preparations.

He was accompanied by Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja, Chief Minister’s Chief Principal Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, Principal Secretary for Health Jayanti Ravi, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra, Collector K.K. Nirala, District Development Officer Arun Mahesh Babu, Civil Hospital Superintendent G. H. Rathod and other hospital staff.

Prohibitory orders have been promulgated in major cities from March 21 to 31, 2020, banning assembly of more than four persons, asking the people to maintain social distance from suspected cases.

The goverrnment has kept strict vigil on the social media. Anybody found spreading rumour face stern action under the provisions of Gujarat Epidemic Act. The government has been repeatedly telling the people not to panic but cooperate with the measures being taken in tiding over the crisis
