Gujarat is committed to extend financial support as a loan-assistance to businesses who have suffered losses due to lockdown

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister shri Vijaybhai Rupani handed over Rs.100 crore loan-sahay cheques of Rajkot Nagrik sahkari bank to beneficiaries under Atmnirbhar Gujarat Sahay package through video conferencing from Gandhinagar. Dedicating his 65th birthday to the economic revival of small business-employed entrepreneurs, Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani virtually distributed financial assistance to beneficiaries.

On this occasion CM made it clear that the state government is committed to support small businesses and small professionals in the state suffering from losses due to lockdown.

“We are committed to giving a steady income by holding the finger of honest people of to rehabilitate them financially,” said the Chief Minister. He added that the hard work of such professionals-businessmen should not be wasted, So state government provides loans up to Rs 1 lakh on interest of only 2%.

He lauded the co-operation given by the ‘co-operative banks, including Rajkot Nagrik Co-operative Bank to the state government. So far 196 civic co-operative banks, 17 district central banks and 169 co-operative societies in the state have disbursed a total of Rs 539 crore loan-assistance to 53952 individuals.

The Chief Minister expressed his clear view that the state government is fulfilling its responsibility by standing by the side of the common man. He also expressed confidence that such a loan would help turn Corona’s disaster into an opportunity.

On this occasion Mr. Navinbhai, Chairman, Rajkot Nagrik Co-oprative bank Bank, Mr. Jyotindra Mehta, President, Urban Co-operative Bank Federation in their occasional address, wished the Chief Minister on his birthday. Minister of State for Co-operation Shri Ishwarsinh Patel also joined video conference.
