Hall Function organised at Indira Gandhi Hall

Aligarh : The vibrant premises of Indira Gandhi Hall, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) witnessed a resplendent gathering on the evening of 3rd May, at the Annual Hall Function “Jashn-e-Bahara”, marking the successful completion of the academic session.

The Chief Guest of the event, Professor Naima Khatoon, Vice Chancellor, AMU encouraged the students wishing them good luck for their exams and career ahead. She said the Hall function is organised by the students, which hones their administrative skills, adding that IG Hall has been a treasure hunt of talents. She promised to provide a new ambulance for the Hall residents, very soon.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the progress and development in the Hall, and the administrative efficiency of the Provost, Professor Shaukat Haseen.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Mohd. Imran, IPS, Registrar, AMU exhorted the students to perform well and never be afraid of failures.

The Vice Chancellor and Registrar distributed certificates to the Indira Gandhi Hall and Annexe committee members, acknowledging their exceptional contributions.

Delivering her welcome address, Professor Shaukat Haseen presented the Hall report.

Prof. Shaukat Haseen and Wardens Dr. Sumbul Rehman, Dr.Badruzzama Siddiqui, Dr. Nazish Begum, Dr. Heena Parveen, Dr. Noorin Zafar, Miss Sana Kaneez and Miss Nazia fecilitated the Vice Chancellor and presented her a handmade portrait crafted by Mariyam Khan, a BFA final year student.

Miss Razain Irtifa Ansari, BUMS (Prof. 1) presented a Naat, while Basra Hasan Rizvi recited her self-composed, and Miss Yasmeen Fatima, BA (English) presented a Nazm”Rooh-e-Syed”, garnering praise from the audience.

Senior Resident Warden, Miss Sana Kaneez proposed a vote of thanks.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Safiya Naiyar, Madiha Naaz and Sabahat Yasmeen.

Prof. Masud Anwar Alavi, Principal, Women’s College, Prof. Mohd. Wasim Ali, Proctor, AMU, Prof. Asiya Chaudhary, Provost, Begum Azizun Nisa Hall, Dr. Shariq Aqeel, Chief Medical Officer, UHS, Prof. Vibha Sharma, Deputy DSW and Professor Zaki Anwar Siddiqui, MIC Land and Garden, were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
