Handicrafts Exhibition Kick starts at Noida, Amritsar
SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 01:- Continuing its participation in the physical fairs the Department of Handicrafts & Handloom, Kashmir today started two physical exhibitions at Greater Noida and Amritsar (PITEX).
The Department has nominated exporters, Unit Holders and artisans of the valley to HGH India 2021 Expo and Amritsar. At India Expo Centre, Greater Noida,Delhi NCR and Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. The fairs assumes special significance in view of the physical participation of the buyers that have arrived to Greater Noida and Amritsar for the first time after the gap created by COVID-19, Pandemic.
The Kashmir Handicrafts Exhibition at Greater Noida will continue till 3rd of December 2021and the Participants from Kashmir are expected to do a good business. From the Kashmir region crafts like Pashmina, Sozni, Wood Carving, Crewel, Paper Machie would be on display and sale.
The Department of Handicrafts and Handloom Kashmir is also sponsoring the participation of the artisans, Cooperative Societies and Unit Holders in various other fairs like Delhi Haat, Amritsar (PITEX) and Suraj Kund Mela. This has become necessary in view of the fact that the inventory of the Handicrafts and Handloom products which failed to reach the destinations due to COVID-19 Pandemic has got swelled to a greater extent.
The Department of Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir has in the month of November sponsored 150 artisans for their participation in India International Trade Fair that concluded successfully on 27th November.
To celebrate the nomination of Srinagar City as UNESCO craft city the Director Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir Mahmood Ahmad Shah disclosed that the Department is also organizing a 4 day mega event at New Delhi to be followed by Exhibition at Dili Haat and participation as THEME STATE in Surajkund Mela.
