Handing over of keys to MUMKIN beneficiaries marks start of Good Governance Week in Kishtwar

 

KISHTWAR : Handing over of keys of commercial vehicles to 3rd batch of MUMKIN beneficiaries marked the start of Good Governance Week, here today.

Three among 18 beneficiaries were handed over keys of opted vehicles & registration documents in presence of ADDC Sham Lal Sharma; District Panchayat Officer Sunil Bhutyal; District Nodal Officer Mumkin (AD Employment/ALC) Amit Kumar; LDM Kishtwar Nasir Ahmed Bhat; Employment Officer Waseem Hassan Khan and other officials of DE&CC Kishtwar.

So far 28 vehicles have been provided to Mumkin applicants in district Kishtwar under “MUMKIN” – a Customized Livelihood Scheme for the Youth in the age group 18-35 of J&K.

The purpose of the Scheme is to facilitate the youth to establish a sustainable livelihood in the transport sector by providing them financial assistance for purchase of new small commercial vehicles.

Under the Scheme Banking Partner extends loan facility to the extent of 100% of the On-road Price of the vehicle purchased. Mission Youth, J&K provides an amount of Rs 80,000 or 10% of on-road price of the vehicle (whichever is lesser) as upfront subsidy.

The vehicle manufacturer (Scheme Partner of Govt) also provides an upfront special discount, not less than the amount of subsidy.

The ADDC Kishtwar congratulated the recipient beneficiaries and wished them prosperous life ahead.

AD Employment (Nodal Officer ‘MUMKIN’) Kishtwar and Employment Officer, DE&CC Kishtwar briefed the media about the mumkin Scheme and other Mission Youth Initiatives for the unemployed youth.
