Hashtag 2017 – A Two day National Level Architecture Fest at SRM Ramapuram Inaugurated

 

Chennai: The SRM School 0f Environment Architecture and Design (SEAD), today flagged off their annual conference in Chennai. Titled HASHTAG ’17 showcases the latest development in the field of Architecture. Padmashree. Thiru. Thota Tharani inaugurated the two day national architecture conference. More than 1500 architectural students from all over the nation participated.

Organized for the benefit of students pursuing their studies in the field of architecture, the conference witness the eminent specialists sharing their best practice, research and innovations in the field of architecture.

The event witnessed lively interactive sessions between celebrity architects and participants. Workshops on Ceramic Modelling, Computational Design and Digital Fabrication. Bamboo construction and Portfolio Making were conducted by leading pioneers of the respected fields. There was an overwhelming response participants across the country.

Speaking on the occasion Padmashree. Thiru. Thota Tharani, said “I am delighted to be a part of the convention. Knowledge is useful only when it is used for greater good. Platforms like this help architectural students to be abreast with the latest in technology. Also emphasised the need to relate architectural curation to the aesthetic of the surrounding. ”

During the inauguration Dr, Sridhar T.S., Director General, SRM group of institutions. Ramapuram & Trichy Campus, said ““Learning from peers is the best way to enhance knowledge. At HASHTAG our vision is to create a platform for students to exchange knowledge, seek expert opinions and also to understand the advancements in the field.”

The second day evening were dedicated to Cultural where participants will showcase their creative and aesthetic talents by various competitions like Dance. Battle of Bands. Ace Director Gautam Vasudev Menon will addressed the importance of architecture and arts in Cinema also Celebrity Photographer Venket Ram will underscore the relationship between photography and Architecture.

The event saw architectural students come together in high spirits and made it an eventful outing where the winner was both Architecture and Humanity.
