Health camp organized

ALIGARH  : Dawakhana Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a health camp at its retail outlet, Elaj-e-Kamil, in Shamshad Market, which was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU and the Aligarh Centre of Metropolis Healthcare Limited.

Appreciating the efforts of the organizers of the health camp, the chief guest, AMU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez said that such camps help in creating awareness among masses regarding health management, which is of great importance in the backdrop of the sedentary life style and stressful engagements.

He further said that detection of blood sugar, cholesterol, etc. at an early stage enables people to ward off and avert greater illness threats like diabetes and hypertension at a later stage.

The Health Camp offered free medical/health check-up and free blood tests, followed by distribution of free medicines. More than 400 patients visited the camp and availed the free health services.

The team of doctors from Faculty of Unani Medicine, who provided consultation at the camp, included Dr. Fahmeedah Zeenat and Dr. Abiha Ahmad Khan from Department of Ilmul Qabalat Wa-Amraz-e-Niswan, Dr. Mohammad Yasir from Department of Mahiyatul Amraz, Dr. Sadaf from Department of Moalejat, Dr Rabia Riaz from Department of Jarahat and Dr. Atiya Anjum from Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib, who worked under the mentorship of the Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Prof. Ubaidullah Khan and Prof. Zameer Ahmad from Department of Amraz-e-Jild wa Tazeeniyat.

Mr. Md. Kashif Naseem, Incharge Aligarh Centre of Metropolis Healthcare Limited, facilitated the pathological tests and distribution of free medicines.

The Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Rafiuddin also visited the camp.
