Health Clubs to be set up in Bandipora

Bandipora: To finalize the arrangements for setting up Health Clubs at Pachayat Level in the Bandipora district, an officers` meeting was held here under the chair of ADC, Mr Zahoor Ahmad Mir. The establishing health clubs are aimed to help Government in containing the spread of COVID-19) in rural areas by timely screening and identification of suspects, pre-symptomatic/asymptomatic.

It was given out that Rs 2 lakh have been sanctioned for each Panchayat for setting up of health clubs while accommodation, food, medical equipments will be provided by Panchayat Raj Institutions. The Health Clubs will oversee availability of masks, pulse oximeter, sodium hypochlorite solution and vital drugs besides addressing myths, misinformation and fake news on social media by verifying the facts from the Government agencies.

The district administration will ensure imparting of necessary training to the teams of the Health Clubs through Health and Medical Education and Rural Development Departments so that they take care of the Covid persons under Quarantine/ Isolation. The teams will be trained to launch surveillance activities in coordination with Health Department authorities, ensure screening and surveillance of travelers arriving in the village and monitor their home quarantine/ isolation. The concerned officers were directed to make the clubs functional early.

The meeting was attended by Block Development Chairmen, Chief Medical Officer Bashir Ahmad, District Panchayat Officer Nazir Ahmad, Sarpanchs, BDOs and officers of the Health Department. Meeting discussed threadbare various issues regarding the constitution of Health Clubs including training, availability of logistics including masks, sanitizers and other medical instruments.
