Health Minister conducted surprise inspection of IGMC’s Covid-19 ward and reviewed the arrangements

Shimla: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal today conducted a surprise inspection of the Covid-19 ward set up in the e-block of Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla and reviewed the arrangements made for the infected patients.

While speaking to senior doctors on duty, Minister also inquired about the care, food and hygiene system of the patients in Covid-19 ward.

Principal IGMC Dr. Rajneesh Pathania and Medical Superintendent Dr. Janak Raj apprised the Health Minister about the control room set up in the hospital. He said that video calling has been arranged for Corona patients in every floor of the block, so that they can interact with their families.

Dr. Saizal also inspected the site of the 17 and 40 bed make shift hospital to be constructed here and took stock of the progress of the work.

Later, Health Minister held a meeting with the administrative officials of the hospital and discussed to redress the issues of hospital at local level. He instructed the officers to update him of issues being faced by the hospital so that it can be resolved with immediate effect.

Joint Director Hospital Administration Ravinder Sharma and Nodal Officer Dr. Rahul Gupta were also present on the occasion.
