Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates National Summit on Quality of Biologicals
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has stressed on the need to initiate studies using state-of-the-art analytical platforms to promote the development of pharmacopeial monographs for new biologicals made from updated technologies.
Inaugurating the National Summit on Quality of Biologicals virtually on Friday, Mr Mandaviya also commended National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) for realizing the need for trained human resource in the biopharma sector and for taking initiative towards National Skill Development Programme.
The Minister expressed hope that the summit will help upgrade the infrastructure and technologies of the country’s biopharmaceuticals and in-vitro diagnostic industry. Mr Mandaviya has emphasised on making treatments more affordable for the common man through these initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar highlighted the need to adopt digital interventions in the biopharma industry.
She also urged the manufacturers to evolve and build bioprocess models for the future. She said that the industry representatives should also focus on increased thrust on Research and Development, innovation, upgrading quality standards, increased digitization and increased thrust towards exports.
