Health Minister says, Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana has helped citizens in saving Rs 18,000 crore

Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana has significantly reduced patients’ out-of-pocket expenditure. It has helped in savings of 18,000 crore rupees for the citizens in the last 8 years. In a tweet, Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said, government is committed to ensuring good quality and affordable healthcare for all.

The scheme ensures easy reach of affordable quality medicines to the people in every nook and corner of the country. More than 8,700 Jan Aushadhi stores have been opened across the country, covering almost every district. The government has set a target to increase the number of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras to ten thousand five hundred by the end of March 2025.
