New Delhi: The second edition of the first-ever virtual fashion week of the IFFD’s India Runway Week has recently concluded, and we are left wanting more. That being said, we have our most favorite festive pieces from across the talented designers that showcased their work at the much talked about event.
From Rohit Bal, Ashima Leena to Genes Lecoanet Hemant the virtual event showcased the best of the veteran designers, apart from the young list of designers Amit GT, Virtues, Abhinav Mishra, Chandrani Siingh Fllora, Anand Bhushan, Ekam, Saaj by Ankita, Ashfaque Ahmed, Varija Bajaj and many more. Here are the picks for you to celebrate fashion.
Poonam Dubey collection was presented by Avon Watch me; Avon Watch Me Now is all about celebrating the transformation of Women of different walks of life. Poonam Dubey presented a collection for Indian festive and Desi Rihanna, Renee Kujur walked as a showstopper for her.
The Black hot Saree from Anand Bhushan’s collection is an absolute modern girl’s dream. This is from his premium prêt range. The saris made from the authentic fabric of Gujarat from Peeli Kothi by Ambica’s collection is such a show-stealer. The gown from Amit GT wedding collection is a great choice for the engagement ceremony as well for the Wedding Reception ceremony.
“I did the second virtual edition of IRW as it was the right time since the wedding season is around. The collection is mainly comprised of all sort of ensembles for various wedding functions like Haldi, Mehendi, reception, Sagan and wedding” Says Amit GT
The other designers who showcased the Festive collection were Saaj by Ankita, Abhinav Mishra, Charu Parashar.
Virtues collections is known as Banaras Gherana which is made of banarsi silk and had Sarees, Lehengas, and Anarkali’s. Poonam Bhagat showcased her Gold & silver dust collection skirts compliment by chanderi crop top and they can be worn on any festive occasion. Ashfaque Ahmed collection is all about black polka dot with flawy silhouettes.
Rohit Bal was a grand finale designer who showcased his affordable range of collections made from organic fabrics like malmal, Chanderi.
“I was the finale designer of the second edition of IRW virtual edition and this time around we had showcased an affordable range so that the brand could reach masses virtually and people can have a look at this range for the upcoming festive season. The idea was to reach a wider set of the audience because people are more active digitally these days so IRW second edition happened at the right time when the festive season was knocking on our doors!” Says Rohit Bal
Where as Ashima Leena showcased their signature style of Printed Saris and skirts.
“We were a part of the IRW virtual edition for the second time and the new technique of green screen was very impressive. The outcome was really nice of the whole show. In the time of covid when everything has become virtual, IRW took it to another level as compared to its last debut season when there was no covid and any virtual shows happening.”Says Ashima Leena.
Leconat Hement collection was inspired by nature and it was a daily to wear collection.
